Schertz, Cibolo and Garden Ridge are scenic little towns near San Antonio Texas. Like many small towns, they promise great adventure and the thrill of discovering fantastic places which are off the beaten path or not included in the guide books.

These special places promise amazing experiences and places to capture the heart of any traveler. Here are some places that you should visit when you are in Garden Ridge.

 

Paul Davis Park

Garden Ridge is the home of two magnificently landscaped parks that are well managed and maintained. The first is the Paul Davis Park, located at 20685 Grass Creek, at the intersection of Blue Bell and Grass Creek. This park was named after a former mayor in the town. Besides the beautiful oak trees dotted throughout the park, there are two covered pavilions, a barbecue hut, picnic tables with barbecue pits close by, playground equipment, and a softball field. It is not uncommon to find this park being used to host parties, weddings and other social meetings.

Park Lane Park

The Park Lane Park is the other great park in Garden Ridge. It is a pocket park situated at the corner of Bat Cave Road and Park Lane. The Park Lane Park is a testament to the unity that exists between the adjacent property owners. It was their vision that led to the building of this magnificent park.

Animal World and Snake Farm

The Animal World and Snake Farm is a place that you must visit when you are in Schertz. The 400 acre ranch is located at the edge of the scenic Texas Hill Country. In this place you will find animals of over fifty species and from six of the seven continents.

The drive through is separated into a walking safari area and four pastures with unique landscapes, so the animals are positioned in the areas most closely resembling their natural habitats. Here you will most likely trace endangered white rhinos and eland antelopes.

Natural Bridge Caverns

This is a family owned and operated tourist place that is an excellent stopover for nature lovers. There are several tours that can be done, including a close up view of an aquifer during the rainy season. This powerful force of water is truly a sight to behold.

You can also explore two word class caves with hidden passages that will make you feel like a smuggler from the olden times. These caves have delicate and rare formations. If you have even wondered what it would feel like to experience total darkness, you can find out during one of the hidden passage tours.

The World’s largest Bracken Bat Flight can be witnessed in the evenings at Natural Bridge Caverns.

A visit to the Cibolo Nature Center & Farm is just what you need to crown your visit in Texas. The Cibolo creek that is lined with tall cypress tress is amazing. Rio Cibolo Ranch

This is a beautiful ranch that is located along the banks of the Cibolo Creek and it is a popular venue for weddings. If you are looking to add rustic small town charm, to the biggest occasion of your life, it is worth taking the time to stop and have a look at one of the six enchanting ceremony venues or three ranch style reception spaces.
