Schertz Civic and Community Centers
The Schertz Civic Center has two facilities – the Grand Ballroom and Bluebonnet Hall – with more than 10,000 square feet of combined meeting space.
The Grand Ballroom with its wood floors, tall ceilings, and adjustable lighting make this space perfect for celebrations such as weddings, meetings, and training seminars as it can accommodate up to 400 guests for a sit-down reception with a 28×28 ft. dance floor. If a smaller, more intimate area is desired, the Grand Ballroom transforms into the Cut-off Hall, accommodating up to 200 guests.
Bluebonnet Hall also has wood floors. With its built-in dance floor and full commercial kitchen, this hall is idea for receptions and social events with up to 120 people.
Two smaller facilities, the Community Center Central and North Community Center, are ideal for small meetings, bridal or baby showers, and family parties.
Schertz has several parks to provide outdoor recreational opportunities:
- Ashley Park has an asphalt Trail (a .25-mile loop), basketball courts, benches and picnic tables, grills, playgrounds, soccer field, and restrooms.
- Crescent Bend Nature Park offers a trail, fishing, grills and picnic tables, and restrooms.
- Cut-Off Park features an asphalt trail and plenty of open space for picnics and recreation.
- Forest Ridge Park offers a decomposed granite trail.
- Gutierrez Xeriscape Park has benches, a concrete trail, compost bin, education area, and pavilion.
- Lone Oak Park also has benches and a concrete paths, and picnic tables, grills, and open spaces.
- Pickrell Park has the city pool. Additionally, this park offers playgrounds, pavilions, grills and picnic tables, benches, basketball courts, water fountains, and restrooms.
- Schertz Ballpark has seven baseball fields, a concession building, and restrooms.
- Schertz Community Playscape offers multiple playgrounds and benches for watching parents.
- The Skate Park is a relatively new addition to the park system providing fun for skateboarders.
