Just outside the neighborhood are two nearby parks with many amenities are Cut-Off Park and Pickrell Park. Cut-Off Park has running trails, picnic areas, and two play areas with new equipment. Pickrell Park has the Schertz city pool, basketball courts, and a covered pavilion with picnic tables. Additionally, there are two playscapes, one for older children and one for toddlers, which are close to one another, making it easy for parents to supervise their kids’ play. Fairway Ridge is only a half hour from historic New Braunfels which sits along the Guadalupe River. New Braunfels has many old homes, churches, and other buildings that the history buff will enjoy visiting. Natural Bridge Caverns is a bit farther, but provides a fun family outing. Canyon Lake is less than an hour away. With more than eighty miles of scenic shoreline, this lake is one of the deepest lakes in Texas – a perfect place to fish, hike, and picnic with the family.
